Automation Lead - Harrogate - 45-55k
SearchDATA Group are looking for an Automation Lead to join a growing technology distribution company.
This is an exciting opportunity to create and lead the business process automation strategy for our client. This role is ideal for an experienced Software, Automation or RPA Developer looking to make the step up to management. You will take ownership of the automation toolkit; maintaining, enhancing and adding to it, as well as building relationships with technology partners. You will also manage a team of Automation Developers by planning their workload, mentoring and upskilling them.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Working with the Automation Developers your role will be to:
- Automate selected business processes using automation applications or a bespoke in-house solution
- Enhance and improve existing automated business processes
- Identify processes that can be automated by power users in the wider business to free the Automation Team up to work on more complex tasks and projects
- Provide expert level technical support for automation applications (Abbyy Flexicapture, UI Path and Winshuttle)
- Build and maintain relationships with technology partners for additional technical support and commercial agreements
- Work with Data Analysts and Information Management Team to improve data quality using automation applications
- Implement development standards and protocols for the Automation Team and ensure that they are followed
Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Software, Automation or RPA Developer
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodology, particularly Scrum
- Working knowledge of Python programming language
- Working knowledge of Transact-SQL and database design
- Good listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills and strategic thinker
- Self-starter able to proactively manage own time and projects
- Confidence to maintain protocols in the face of business demand for 'instant' deliverables
- Track record of mentoring junior members of a team, particularly in 'best practice'
Experience & Knowledge:
- Exposure to web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web application frameworks (Flask, Django) is desirable
- Exposure to version control software (Git, GitHub, GitLab) is desirable
- Previous experience working in distribution is desirable
