Front End Developer

Our client is a highly successful global technology business that are currently experiencing a period of growth. They are currently looking for a Front End Web/App Developer to join their UK office based in Newcastle on a permanent basis.

The role

The Front End Web/App Developer will be responsible for working with the UI/UX design team to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation. Taking an active role in the agile process, you will work as part of the team to ensure the current codebase is maintained and to deliver new features on web and mobile apps.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application.

• Develop new user-facing features
• Maintain and update the current user-facing feature set
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and SEO
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
• Contribute and drive the agile process

About You

The successful Front End Developer will be experienced in web and app design, have the ability to combine the art of design with the art of programming and be comfortable working in a team.

Other requirements include:

• Proficient in JavaScript, CSS and HTML
• Have previous experience with cross-browser development
• Be confident using Web Components
• Have experience writing Unit Tests
• Have previous experience in advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks
• Have a mobile first and responsive design approach
• Have an understanding of SEO and SEO tools
• Experience with React/React Native, Typescript and RESTful services would be beneficial however not essential
