Environment Manager- Telecom

For one of our clients, Flint are looking for an Environment Manager for a contracting opportunity.

What I'll be doing - your accountabilities

• Support the Environment Managers in determining which mobile systems need testing and mitigate risks of not doing so where necessary.
• Responsible for producing the environment delivery plan to establish the key activities, resources, dependencies, risks and time scales necessary to deliver the environment.
• Assist in the build of new mobile test environments.
• Responsible for assessing and scheduling environment bookings and prioritise and resolve scheduling and resource conflicts as required.
• Help establish and maintain desired test environment specifications throughout the testing life cycle
• Assist in resolution of any issues arising from test environment delivery to customer's satisfaction
• Maintain the environment throughout the test delivery life cycle by management and application of the appropriate change control processes.
• Work with Users and Environment Manager Specialists to find an agreed way forward when/if a project overruns its environment booking (either due to live bug fixes or project delay) and requests an extension to the booking which conflicts with other projects booked on to the environment.
• Make recommendations/decisions on the continuous improvement of environment practices and drive strategic and tactical decisions on products and services.

Skills required for the job

• Understand the principles of project management
• Be able to plan and prioritise your workload in a fast-paced business
• Have a relevant degree or equivalent technical/engineering qualification
• Communicate and report all environment delivery related issues and resolution activities to the users.
• Work collaboratively with peers in other technology teams to ensure seamless delivery of cross-functional environment delivery.
• Support the maintenance of relationships with third parties responsible for connecting external test environments to the test network.
• Where appropriate work with external suppliers and parents to communicate test facility requirements to enable timely environment delivery.

Experience you would be expected to have

• Previous experience of working in telecom networks and have knowledge on how mobile networks work.
• Degree or equivalent technical/engineering qualification.
• Capable of working under pressure and resolving resultant customer conflicts in a rapidly changing business.
• You've made decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions (eg divided team loyalties or unclear deliverables)
• You've aligned project plans and objectives with our 'strategy and values
• You've actively participated in strategy setting sessions
• You've moved outside of expected process or practice to suit the needs of a customer, colleague or client
• You've worked with people from other business locations or functions.
