ERP PROJECT MANAGER - CONTRACT - 6 MONTHS - OUTSIDE IR35
ROLE OVERVIEW
The role's mission is to manage and deliver the migration of ERP & associated applications as part of a wider project to application infrastructure). The central role of the Deployment Manager is to oversee and drive all project activities and to represent the client within the wider project team.
This individual will be responsible for providing day-to-day project management, guidance, communication and support across the full lifecycle of the project. The Deployment Manager will have strong experience of ERP migration and a proven ability to work cross-functionally to co-ordinate and lead project activities through the usual project lifecycle.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall project management responsibility of the Surf project, including project planning, resource allocation and steering committee leadership
- Manage the relationship with third-party providers, alignment and representation in the project.
- Develop project and cut-over plans with both internal resources and external partners and manage the project in terms of cost, duration and interdependent projects
- Develop a communication plan to support each phase of the project and tailored to stakeholder group
- Develop and deliver project progress reports, RAID Logs and risk metrics
- Manage all tasks, timetables, budgets, resources and project deliverables
- Provide quality control across the full project lifecycle
- Track and manage all project tasks, including those executed by the client and 3rd parties
- Develop an effective PMO structure aligned to the needs of the project
- Maintain weekly status updates to the Steering Committee and sponsors that is clear and concise
- Evaluate and own client business readiness, including testing and test preparation, cutover planning etc and associated communication with the business
- Ensure client business is aware of, and plans for any changes impacting from the project, e.g. Logo and document wording changes, move from VPN to Azure etc
- Identify problems early and get these resolved between Business and the project team. Escalate where necessary
KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Ideally 10 to 15 years of IT experience in retail and/or manufacturing industry
- Fully qualified ERP Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading ERP migrations - Ideally experienced with projects delivering SAP ECC
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to actively encourage collaboration
- Able to develop project schedules aligned to interdependent projects
- Able to positively influence others and to work cross-organisationally
- Energy and focus on delivering the right work in the right order based on value
- Can clarify priorities and control scope with leaders
- Good communication skills with frequent, transparent, and clear communication needed across all levels
- Experience of working in a group function that supports both internal and 3rd Party teams
- Practical experience of waterfall project management methodology
- Good understanding of business applications including ERP, CRM, WMS etc
