Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the company's technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives Lead technology and R&D teams, mentoring and recruiting senior technical talent Drive innovation by overseeing R&D programmes, emerging technologies, and the integration of new materials or processes Manage technological infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency Collaborate with other executives, including commercial and product teams, to align technology initiatives with organisational goals Oversee budgets, resources, and timelines for technology projects Provide high-level technical advice to senior leadership and stay informed of industry trends and competitive developments Ensure the protection of intellectual property and sensitive technical information Qualifications & Experience Proven senior technology leadership experience (15-20 years) in complex systems or capital goods industries Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Metallurgy; master's preferred; chartered status advantageous Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including investors Deep knowledge of additive manufacturing, emerging technologies, and advanced materials Additional Information Based on-site in Hailsham; occasional UK and international travel may be required Full UK driving licence essential Immediate start for the successful candidate This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the technological future of an innovative engineering organisation, leading R&D and advanced materials initiatives while contributing to strategic growth. Systems Engineer - Newhaven £35,000 - £38,000 Permanent Office-based 37.5 hours per week This Systems Engineer position sits within an established engineering office, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering control and distribution system designs. The Systems Engineer will take ownership of the technical, quality, and safety elements of assigned projects, translating sales and customer requirements into clear manufacturing instructions. As a Systems Engineer, you will work closely with internal engineering functions, customers, and sales to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities Include: Developing control and distribution schemes aligned to contract and sales information Liaising directly with customers to clarify technical requirements Producing component schedules, bin lists, sheet steel orders, and variations Supporting mechanical design with accurate technical information Contributing to internal project reviews to maintain delivery timescales Providing information for O&M manuals and technical documentation Supporting sales and estimating with technical input where required General Responsibilities: Be self-motivated, positive and conscientious inside and outside immediate team. Maintain good working relationships both internally with colleagues and where appropriate with external customers and stakeholders. Support and enhance environmental sustainability and health and safety objectives.
