Job Title : Remote Support Engineer Job Location : Nottingham/Home Salary £55000 plus £6000 car allowance Our client is an Independent Security Systems Integrator, with expertise built over four decades delivering security solutions for high-security, public space, transport, and infrastructure projects throughout the UK and Ireland. About The Role: Provide remote monitoring, preventative maintenance, fault rectification and first line technical support on security systems, networks and cloud hoisted platforms (CCTV, ACS, VMS, Azure, AWS, TCP/IP, VLANS etc) as managed through our Security Service and OnVehicle propositions, ensuring maximum system uptime, early health warnings and rapid fault resolution. The role will also provide technical support and assistance to our field-based engineers and helpdesk team. Whilst this a remote role, occasional visits to customer security systems may be required. Duties & Responsibilities Monitor health and availability of security systems, networks and cloud services in line with any contract requirements, proactively identifying faults via system alerts, dashboards and analytics and taking appropriate actions. Remotely investigate system faults, resolving where possible or liaising and supporting the field-based engineers where onsite intervention is needed. Undertake remote planned preventative maintenance. Log, prioritise and manage incidents in line with contract SLAs (i.e. S1 S4) Manage users, permissions, devices and data flows. Track fault ownership through to full resolution. Review system health and assets, checking software and firmware versions are suitable, products are supported and compliant, and security firewalls and networks are resilient. Support the On-Vehicle and Security installation teams with remote configurations, system commissioning and technical product support. Skills & Personal Qualities Technically proficient on enterprise level security systems, security networks (LANs, WANS, VLANs) and cloud storage systems. Experience with supporting CCTV, ACS and VMS. Strong understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, bandwidth, firewalls) • Working knowledge of cloud-hosted platforms (Azure, AWS or equivalent) Ability to diagnose faults remotely, using logs, alerts and system data. Familiarity with Windows and other OS environments Able to diagnose complex problems remotely Qualifications & Experience Security engineering or IT related qualification preferable. A minimum of five years experience in a similar role. Proven experience of working on enterprise level security systems. Knowledge of IT networks and cloud platforms preferred.
