Cloud Security Architect Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite (Cardiff area) Salary: Up to £90,000 + Bonus + Great bens About the Role We are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Architect to join a well established organisation supporting large-scale digital transformation programmes. This is a senior position where you will act as the Domain Design Authority , owning security architecture across enterprise environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and evolution of security capabilities across services, while acting as a trusted advisor to both technical and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Act as Domain Design Authority for security architecture within your service line Define, govern, and assure enterprise security architecture across complex environments Provide strategic advisory across managed services, new deals, and transition programmes Ensure alignment with security standards, policies, and best practices Lead stakeholder engagement, building strong relationships across business and technology teams Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams Translate complex security concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders Skills & Experience Strong experience in enterprise security architecture within large-scale environments Expertise across: SOC / SIEM / SIAM Network Security Architecture Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, Hybrid environments) Strong understanding of modern security operations and tooling Familiarity with frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA , and Secure by Design principles Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels Experience working in multi-vendor and transformation environments Security Requirements Must be a sole UK national Must be eligible for SC clearance Working Model This is a hybrid role , requiring 2-3 days per week onsite in the Cardiff area , with the remainder remote. The tech stack includes Java, microservices, infrastructure-as-code, NoSQL databases, containerisation, JEE, Oracle, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Please note that you MUST be eligible for SC clearance and be able and willing to be onsite in Shropshire 3 days per week. Your Role: Reviewing and assessing requirements to ensure they are testable and clear. Designing and developing test scripts, and preparing test data in collaboration with other teams. Executing tests, documenting results, and verifying that identified issues have been resolved. Communicating progress and risks clearly to the wider team, including the Product Owner. Your Skills & Experience: Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman. Familiarity with functional or system integration testing. Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JUnit). Knowledge of stubbing tools like WireMock. Understanding of non-functional testing, including load and performance testing. Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other backlog/test management platforms. Exposure to iterative or incremental software delivery practices. Ability to maintain and execute automated testing cycles. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
