Position : Turning Programmer/Setter/Operator Salary: Between £53,000 - £63,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus overtime plus benefits Hours: Monday to Thursday 14:45 Midnight (classed as 2nd shift) You would need to work the 1st shift until training has been completed successfully. The 1st Shift hours are 6:30am to 3:15pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 1pm Friday each week Location: Commutable from Camberley, Bracknell, Farnborough, Farnham, Guildford, Aldershot and surrounding areas Company An established and growing manufacturing company who precision machined parts and solutions to various industries, mainly Aerospace and Defence, are on the lookout for a Turning Programmer/Setter/Operator. Responsibilities The role will involve programming, setting and operating various machinery (including CNC, Mazak, etc.), producing precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications in the aerospace and automotive industry. The role ensures machines are correctly prepared, tooling is optimised, and components are produced efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Program, set, and operate CNC turning/milling machines Set up machines, tooling, and materials for upcoming jobs within required timeframes Read, understand, and edit CNC programs where required Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to inspect components Carry out in-process and final inspection to ensure parts meet required standards Achieve required output levels while maintaining quality and efficiency Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including work orders and verification of operations Requirements Qualification in Engineering or a related field (desirable) 3 5 years experience in a similar CNC machining role Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Competent in the use of measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) If this role sounds of interest, please apply now and send your most up to date CV to Jane at TechNichols Resourcing to be considered. Position: Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) Programmer, Setter, Operator Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience, plus benefits Hours: Monday - Thursday, 06:30am - 15:15pm, Friday 06:00am - 13:00pm Location : Commutable from Camberley, Bracknell, Farnborough, Farnham, Guildford, Aldershot and surrounding areas Company: A very modern, well established and growing manufacturing company who precision machined parts and solutions to Aerospace Industry are on the lookout for a EDM Programmer, Setter, Operator to join their team. Main Purpose: Program, set and operate Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM), Makino wire machines in line with engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality, accurate components are produced safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Program, set and operate wire erosion in line with engineering drawings and specifications Interpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial) and work to tight tolerances Download, prove out and optimise CNC/EDM programs Set up tooling, fixtures and workpieces correctly Inspect components (first-off and in-process) to ensure quality standards Adjust machine parameters and offsets to maintain accuracy Carry out routine machine maintenance and ensure consumables are stocked Support tooling, prototype and development work Maintain production records and follow quality and safety procedures Skills & Qualifications/Experience: Time-served engineer or equivalent experience within a precision engineering environment Proven experience in wire erosion and/or spark erosion, including programming and operating EDM Makino machinery Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and working to tight tolerances on precision components Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, materials, and inspection methods Familiar with NADCAP requirements Good awareness of quality standards and health & safety regulations within a manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, right-first-timework Methodical and disciplined approach, with the ability to follow processes while also thinking practically Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability, with a hands-on engineering mindset Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and manage workload effectively Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across production, quality, and engineering teams Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality Proactive and able to work independently Methodical and organised approach to work Reliable, dependable, and professional Positive attitude and team-focused If this role sounds of interest, please apply now and send your most up to date CV to Vicky at TechNichols Resourcing to be considered.
