CONFIGURATION CONTROLLER - Permanent North London My client is seeking a technically skilled Configuration Controller to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering part structures, an eye for detail, and a proactive, hands-on approach. This role requires a pragmatic and confident individual with excellent communication skills, capable of ensuring quality standards are met when releasing and changing controlled technical data. This role carries sole responsibility for the release and change control of technical data within the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and the management of related processes and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Administer the daily release and change control of technical data within the ERP system, including engineering part structures, bills of materials, drawings, documents, software, etc. Manage the end-to-end change and deviation request process. Act as the technical focal point for ERP-controlled documents and parts, including change requests, deviations, build standard definitions, and engineering part revisions. Develop and maintain Configuration Management processes, procedures, and ERP configuration control, providing guidance and training as required. Create and maintain ERP document basic data such as approval templates, document classes, and document numbering. Optimize ERP system functionality to improve efficiency. Establish methods to cleanse legacy part and document data within the ERP system. Produce configuration plans and submissions for new contract proposals and project life cycles. Attend software release and design review meetings, maintaining ERP version control and software repository. Maintain memberships and documents related to supply chain and quality certifications (e.g., ISO, MED). Participate in ERP system improvement projects, including testing and upgrades. Support QMS audits and other related activities. Requirements: Fluent in English (written and verbal). Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Excellent communication and document creation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with IFS Cloud Applications 11 is advantageous. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is beneficial. Auditor experience in ISO 9001:2015 is a plus. Experience: Previous experience in configuration management or control, preferably in a defense, aerospace, or technical engineering environment.
