Location: Europe - Hybrid Remote with Travel Key skills: Senior PKI/Infrastructure Engineer, Design, enterprise-scale PKI environment, 3-tier PKI/Certificate Authority Design, PKI hierarchy, EJBCA, DigiCert, Venafi, Entrust, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), key life cycle management, PKI services within Kubernetes environments, Kubernetes certificate management, Linux, Open source based infrastructure solutions, Certificate protocols, validation, crytographic keys, key management, enterprise security architecture, Linux-based infrastructure,infrastructure deployment and configuration, Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and operational tooling, troubleshoot complex PKI, infrastructure and platform issues, contribute to security, resilience, scalability and operational best practice Our client is urgently searching for a Senior PKI Platform Engineer/PKI Infrastructure Specialist with EJBCA, DigiCert, Venafi, Entrust experience to work as a contractor on a critical project in Europe. They are looking for an experienced engineer for a team that works with enterprise PKI platforms, certificate management and modern infrastructure solutions. The consultant must be able to act as an engineer with the task of both operation, further development and automation of business-critical PKI services.The client is based in Europe and there is an option to work in a hybrid role as much of the work can be done off site but some work will need to be done on site. A successful consultant will have strong knowledge in: Senior PKI/Infrastructure Engineer - 5+ years of experience in PKI, certificate infrastructure, or similar enterprise-scale security platforms. PKI & Certificates Enterprise PKI platforms PKI hierarchies and Certificate Authority design Certificate Lifecycle Management One or more PKI platforms such as EJBCA, DigiCert, Venafi, Entrust Certificate protocols and validation. Security Infrastructure Cryptographic keys and key management Enterprise security architecture Platform Engineering Kubernetes Kubernetes Certificate Management Linux Open Source-based infrastructure solutions Automation & Infrastructure as Code For work use/Restricted Terraform Ansible YAML Bash PowerShell Advantage, but not requirement It will be an advantage if the candidate has experience with: GitOps principles Container platforms and cloud-native operation CI/CD pipelines related to PKI and certificate management Key Responsibilities/Tasks The consultant will work with, among other things: Implementation and operation of on premise PKI System Operation, maintenance and further development of PKI System hierarchy Automation of Certificate Lifecycle Management Operation of an enterprise PKI System in a container-based environment This is an English speaking role.
