A growing client of ours are seeking a skilled Hardware Field Engineer to join their expanding team within a leading provider of workforce and control technologies. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hardware, strong investigative abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations and support services to customers across the UK. This position requires extensive travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays of up to five nights per week during larger installation projects. Role Responsibilities Installation: Fit and configure new access control systems and clocking devices. Maintenance: Service and maintain existing systems to ensure optimal performance. Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults efficiently. Replacement: Identify and replace faulty components or devices when necessary. Technical Knowledge: Maintain a solid understanding of access control technologies and time-tracking systems. Well-known for strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, providing clear technical explanations and minimising disruption during on-site work. Organised, proactive, and safety-conscious, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining compliance with industry standards and company procedures. Qualifications & Experience ECS/CSCS or other site-safety certification (training can be provided) - Desirable Full UK driving licence. Skills & Abilities Previous experience in field service, installation, or maintenance roles. Strong practical aptitude with an interest in electronics, IT, or engineering. Knowledge of access control, CCTV, or time and attendance systems. Good problem-solving ability and a logical approach to technical issues. Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi setup). Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Understanding of low-voltage systems or cabling (RS485, CAT5/6). Confident using hand tools and basic electrical or IT equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or wiring diagrams. Reporting into- Head of pre sales This is a UK wide, remote position with a reputable business looking to maintain and expand their mobile application services. The main bulk of services on offer range from energy to aerospace in the way of software products. These are available to access via mobile making it easier for field engineers and people who are generally mobile to gain insight imminently and whilst on the job. The aim is to improve and become a challenger cloud based product suite in the market for multiple industries. Factors contributing to this push include the government's pledge to commit to net zero carbon emissions by using forward thinking and clean energy provider solutions. For this role, you must be competent with your consulting approach, customer facing and able problem solve on the spot or sympathise with client issues that need development. Your days will be varied, from presenting and demonstrating at events, to leading prototyping projects. You will also be responsible for creating relationships with the wider business to ensure you are familiar with all aspects and able to get things done in a timely order. What we are looking for: Proven experience selling, architecting, or delivering Mobile Applications or Platforms Experience in the deployment and use of mobile field worker solutions, ideally in Utilities, Transport or similar industries Demonstrable experience in creating solutions from requirements in a pre sales or consulting role Demonstrable experience of working in multi-discipline teams and the ability to lead engagements when required Demonstrable experience in creating & delivering customer presentations, demonstrations, proposals and tenders Good understanding of relevant technologies including Cloud, AI/ML, IoT, Integration and mobile development Experience in delivering mobile fieldworker projects an advantage Experience of back office applications such as Enterprise Asset Management, Work Management and GIS an advantage Basic salary for this role is £80,000k plus a good bonus and commission.
