We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who will be involved in a wide range of activities - including technical delivery on projects, technical consultancy to businesses, engagement with universities and R&D centres and working within our facilities with a wide range of professionals in other disciplines. Equally, there is the opportunity to work on satellite enabled 5G as well as 6G networks through the evolution of both satellite and terrestrial networks. Skills & Experience required: MSc in Satellite Communications, Telecommunications systems or similar discipline or equivalent knowledge or experience Ideally 5+ years experience in the satellite communication domain or equivalent knowledge or experience Knowledge of full end to end satellite communication network architecture and implementation Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems specifically telecommunications payloads Knowledge of satellite Communication Core Network and Ground Segment architectures Hands on experience with the integration of satellite telecommunication payload and/or Ground station and/or similar embedded systems Proven experience of contribution to bids for collaborative/commercial work Knowledge of FPGA, DSP development, Linux, coding/scripting desirable Ideally 5+ years experience working on externally funded collaborative projects with external stakeholders or equivalent knowledge or experience Good communication skills (verbal and written English) Success factors: You know you have been successful when You have helped a business make use of satellite technology in delivering a solution to the market You have found a solution to a thorny technical issue delaying a project You have won the respect of external project partners on collaborative projects You have mastered and shared your knowledge on a new technology with the team The purpose of your new team: The UC team is at the forefront of innovation in the connectivity area with technical expertise across 5G/6G, satellite communications, future networks, IoT and terminals. Be Applied Ltd is seeking a Mid-level Satcom Systems Engineer to join their Ubiquitous Communication team in Didcot. This role involves working on satellite technologies and engaging with both businesses and research institutions to tackle real-world challenges. The successful candidate will possess an MSc in Satellite Communications and ideally have over 5 years of experience in the satellite domain. The position offers hybrid working with onsite collaboration twice a week.
