AI-Driven Microsoft Purview Specialist Contract | 6 months | Hybrid/Remote | Outside IR35 We're seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Specialist to play a pivotal role in enabling the secure adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot and Enterprise AI technologies within a large-scale enterprise environment. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI governance, data protection, and compliance, helping shape how organisations securely leverage AI while maintaining regulatory and security standards. Working closely with security, compliance, legal and technology stakeholders, you'll design and implement robust data governance frameworks that protect sensitive information, reduce oversharing risks, and ensure responsible AI usage across the Microsoft ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Purview capabilities to support AI governance initiatives. Deploy and configure Purview Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI to monitor sensitive data exposure across AI prompts, responses and agentic workflows. Design and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent data leakage and control sensitive information sharing. Implement Information Protection controls including sensitivity labels, auto- classification and access governance. Monitor AI and Copilot activity using Purview auditing, Activity Explorer and compliance tooling. Investigate security and compliance incidents related to AI adoption and data usage. Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards. Provide guidance and best practice recommendations on responsible AI adoption across the business. Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex security requirements into practical solutions. Essential Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience delivering Microsoft Purview solutions in enterprise environments. Proven expertise across: Information Protection Data Classification Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Insider Risk Management Compliance & Risk Management Experience supporting or securing Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-enabled environments. Solid understanding of AI governance, data security, and oversharing prevention strategies. Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks including GDPR and industry best practices. Experience automating compliance and governance activities using PowerShell. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Desirable Experience Microsoft Certifications such as: SC-400 Information Protection Administrator SC-900 Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals Exposure to: Microsoft Copilot Studio Azure AI Foundry Microsoft Fabric Understanding of AI governance frameworks, including NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
