Since 2001, we have been testing new approaches to tackling deforestation, and guiding companies, investors and governments worldwide to think differently about our planet's forests. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of an international team, who are breaking exciting new ground in the pursuit of more transparent and sustainable supply chains. The successful candidate will be an individual with a passion for innovation and teamwork, and experience of managing data, and developing databases. Global Canopy has and continues to build a significant database of corporate policies and risks associated with deforestation. As Researcher – Data projects, you will carry out database management and data analysis on these databases in order to support Global Canopy’s work engaging with companies to address deforestation. The successful candidate will support on developing the structure of Global Canopy’s databases, integrating, curating and managing the data – which is constantly being created and sourced from a range of places. The objective for this role will be to ensure the data is readily available and you will work to find innovative ways to query the data. The ultimate aim is to support the research on how companies do or don’t address deforestation. If you are an experienced and passionate about database management, manipulation and coding, specifically with SQL, R and Python and you have the ability to problem solve and identify opportunities for improvement in existing systems and research approaches, then we want to hear from you.
