We are seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to lead the development of a critical sensor project. As a key member of our customer's Electro-Optics team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of electronics engineers in the development of complex electronic hardware. This is a unique opportunity to work on a mission-critical, electro-optical system, Key Responsibilities: Requirements: Manage and lead a team of Electronics engineers in developing the sensor system's electronic hardware through the full engineering lifecycle Ownership of electronics work packages, agreeing budget and schedule with engineering management Day-to-day planning and execution of the teams' work, supervising engineers in completion of their tasks, and status reporting to key stakeholders Lead the electronics architecture development while working closely with Systems, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software Leads to optimise system capability and performance Act as primary point of contact and interface with Engineering Management for all aspects of electronics development Coach and mentor the project electronics team in terms of their technical and professional development Essential: Experience of team leadership and work package management Expertise in at least one or more areas of electronics design (analogue, mixed-signal, digital/FPGA/DSP or power electronics) Knowledge of developing electronics using a structured/gated development process Desirable: Experience of developing electro-optic and/or servo control technology Experience of developing electronics for avionic systems Experience across all phases of the Engineering Product Life Cycle, on several projects Experience of coaching junior members of an electronics team Due to the nature of the work, applicants will be required to obtain UK Security Clearance, and due to the nature of the work applications are only open to Sole British Nationals. The role requires a minimum of 2 days onsite in Edinburgh and is offered Inside IR35.

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our engineering team on a 6-month contract based in the Buckinghamshire are. You will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of embedded software solutions for mission-critical systems, ideally within the defence sector. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain embedded software using C and C++ . Work with configuration management tools such as Subversion and Git . Design and optimise real-time systems with strong expertise in RTOS (Real-Time Processing Systems). Work with embedded processors and contribute to low-level software integration. Support GUI development and software applications for Windows operating systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet project milestones. Ensure compliance with quality standards and documentation requirements. Essential Skills & Experience: Proficiency in Embedded C and C++ development. Strong knowledge of Subversion (SVN) and Git for version control. Demonstrated expertise in RTOS and embedded processor environments. Experience with GUI development and working with Windows OS . Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Desirable: Prior experience in the defence sector or other high-assurance industries. Familiarity with safety-critical or mission-critical software development processes. Due to nature of the role , c andidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, SC clearance. The role will require candidates to be based onsite 4 days a week. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of firmware solutions for complex embedded systems, with a focus on high-performance applications within the defence sector. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop firmware using VHDL for FPGA-based systems. Work with Altera (Intel) FPGA platforms to deliver robust and reliable solutions. Implement and optimise DSP algorithms for real-time applications. Develop and integrate firmware for microprocessors in embedded systems. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to meet technical and project objectives. Contribute to documentation, verification, and validation processes in accordance with industry standards. Essential Skills & Experience: Strong experience with VHDL development and FPGA design. Hands-on expertise with Altera (Intel) FPGA devices and toolchains. Proven track record in DSP implementation. Experience in microprocessor programming and integration. Background in the defence sector or other safety/mission-critical industries (highly desirable). Ability to work under minimal supervision and deliver high-quality results within tight timelines. Due to the nature of the project candidates will be required to work onsite 4 days a week. Role is inside IR35 paying circa 80- 90 per hour.
