Operational Engineer (Minerva SA Reg Risking) Max Supplier: £600 Clearance required: SC is required - Must hold SC (preferably HMRC) but we can transfer Duration: 6 months Location: Telford: If local to Telford, requirement will be 2 days per week on site. If not local, expectation will be to attend once/twice a month. IR35 Status: Capgemini Mandated PAYE only Job description: The Preventative Risking (PR) team within RIS is responsible for managing the risking and compliance referral processes for Self-Assessment (SA) registrations. Currently, the system identifies approximately 200,000 fraudulent registrations out of 1 million, resulting in an estimated £51 million to £219 million in lost SA repayment claims for HMRC (based on 2021/2022 figures). To address this, a proof of concept (POC) was developed using: SAS Enterprise Guide for table creation, SAS Studio V and SAS RTENG to build the SA registration network, SAS Viya 3.5 tools for risk assessment of new SA registrations. The POC leveraged data from 20 different sources, most of which were already housed in the Minerva Oracle database. Previously, some data had to be transferred manually. However, the automated file transfers described in this Solution Design Document (SDD) will now move that data to the SAS platform using approved Enterprise Architecture (EA) integration patterns, with the initial phase, targeted for delivery in April 2026. This role will form part of a new scrum team within Minerva Platfrom to develop and deliver the Ingestion and Risking within the SAS Platform including IDP. Job Summary - highlight project details/what is exciting about the role: As a member of the Business Intelligence team, Data modeller will be responsible for translating requirements into a complete enterprise information platform. The primary function of the Data Modeller will be to provide architectural guidance, end model to support the business requirements and other analytical requirements efficiently on enterprise level. The desired candidate will be responsible for discussing the requirements with business users, data discovery, designing the data model for enterprise warehouse as well as data marts to meet the reporting needs on the enterprise data platform implemented using big data and cloud technologies. The candidate will work closely with the other members of the BI team to analyze data requirements, design logical and physical models, evolve models to meet new and changing business requirements and develop processes for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data solution components. The candidate is also expected to provide guidance to customer on implementing data management and data governance best practices on the data platform 2. Key Responsibilities - list what the person will be doing on a day to day basis: Understand and translate business requirements into data models supporting long-term analytical solution. Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models. Create logical and physical data models for enterprise data warehouse (EDW) layer using Data Vault 2.0 methodology by implementing best practices for the big data or cloud data platform with the objective of supporting high data quality, high performance warehouse layer Create logical and physical data models for presentation layer using dimension modelling by implementing best practices with the objective of supporting self service analytical capability Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects. Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata. Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. Validate business data model for accuracy and completeness. Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Provide direction, guidance, and oversight for data quality controls. Develop and present training materials such as data flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, UML diagrams, ER flow diagrams as needed in order to clarify data model meaning and usage effectively to a wide range of technical and non-technical consumers.
