A leading Cambridge based technology company are looking to add a Commercial Manager to the team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be fully on-site. This role will support the wider Commercial function across contract management, strategic bids, commercial negotiations, risk management and compliance, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with global sales partners, customers, governments and suppliers while supporting the business in minimising commercial risk and maximising margin and cash. Key Responsibilities: Draft and administer terms and conditions of contract. Draft and review commercial agreements, including Software Licence Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements and Teaming Agreements. Manage a portfolio of partner agreements, including contract renewals, performance obligations and governance throughout the contract lifecycle. Provide commercial support to in-flight contracts, including contract change management, monitoring contractual obligations and managing commercial risk. Work as an integral member of the Commercial function to support the winning of new business and the effective management and delivery of existing contracts. Support the Bid function in preparing proposals for submission to customers, working collaboratively with internal subject matter experts. Undertake complex commercial assignments requiring cross-functional collaboration with limited supervision. Support Finance with the suitability and management of performance bonds, bank guarantees, parent company guarantees and trade finance instruments. Support the creation and submission of export licence applications. Act as a trusted point of contact for internal ad hoc matters relating to commercial, contractual and compliance issues, using sound judgement to escalate matters where appropriate. The ideal candidate must have: A degree in Law or Business. Knowledge of contract, commercial and risk management methods. Experience of working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Confidence conducting legal research on complex matters of law. An understanding of basic business finance, including profit and loss, margin and markup. Knowledge of export legislation. A sound understanding of contract law and its practical application. Knowledge of UK and EU Competition and Procurement Law. A basic understanding of Intellectual Property Law. The ability to identify, assess and manage commercial risks effectively. Relevant professional qualifications such as GDL/LPC, IACCM or CIPS would be advantageous. Additional language skills would be advantageous.
