The Job We're looking for an enthusiastic Junior Designer to join our expanding design team. Perhaps you're a graduate looking for your first design role, or someone with a year or so under their belt, either way there is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow while getting to work across a wide variety of projects and platforms both digital and print. The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft PowerPoint, be highly organised and have a keen eye for detail. Enthusiasm is paramount in this role - whether that be towards learning new skills or about the work that we cover, you will have a great 'can-do' attitude. Purpose: To assist and support the Design team in the ideation and creation of all designed content across both print and digital media. This function requires a wide remit of work including, but not limited to Marketing, our Magazine, Sales, Video, Events, Advisory and social media. General Responsibilities: Continue to develop design skills including layout and typography while learning new software / digital executions Ask questions, give status updates, discuss design work you like Contribute ideas, suggest illustrators, typographers, photographers, look at what other designers are doing Present multiple variations for all design work to show exploration and discuss your thought process. This approach helps find the best solution rather than the first Work with the grids and guides, considering column widths and alignment Attention to detail is key. Snap to guides, use layers, clear unneeded content from the pasteboard, name documents in a logical manner etc Learn to critique your own work Kerning all headlines and large type is a must. Leading should be considered for any type that is not on the baseline grid Pick up day to day design requests from wider team Keep the 'Design' folders up to date with assets Maintain the Contagious brand across all touchpoints Candidate Requirements Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus) Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint Be highly organised and able to work to deadlines Have strong visual skills with an eye for detail Have an active interest in the latest design, advertising, and marketing trends Be able to/learn to produce a plethora of work, from presentation decks to video. Our creative briefs range from big projects like our quarterly magazine to smaller day-to-day marketing requests, so you'll need to be happy to get stuck into projects both big and small.
