Our client is looking for a Software Development Team leader to join their talent team in . You will be responsible for leading a Software Development team to deliver outstanding and valuable technology solutions creating a manageable pipeline of work for the team. You’ll work in a highly iterative and agile environment (test automation). This is not a hands on development role, and as such you will be a natural leader to engage, motivate and inspire your teams. You will need to be adaptable and passionate demonstrating and applying experience of appropriate methods of software delivery to ensure maximum effectiveness of your teams. Your role will involve recruitment, learning and development, regular performance reviews and associated career development plans, ensuring all team members are equipped to the highest skill levels required to perform their roles. To be considered for this opportunity you’ll need to possess and demonstrate compelling leadership skills and have experience in driving the effectiveness of teams. Ideally you will be degree educated, and if you have any formal training in management and product management it would be highly advantageous. Experience in managing Development teams to deliver software products is a pre-requisite for this role. Through effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders you will need to use your subject matter expertise and business knowledge to influence and drive change. This role will encompass multiple delivery streams, working primarily with C# .Net, but looking ahead to modernise into HTML, JavaScript and AWS / Azure cloud based technologies. A good understanding of agile development methodologies, continuous delivery practices and extreme programming practices is advantageous such as BDD and TDD, as will prior experience working in a continuous delivery environment with test automation a strong focus. Hands on experience with performance and/or security testing is favourable. Great role for the right candidate. The right candidate should have excellent working knowledge of PHP, good general knowledge of the LAMP/LEMP stack, and, ideally, a strong interest in Go, NodeJS, and AWS. The position involves working with an existing development team to design and implement their front-end and back-end systems. The right candidate will have: * Good working knowledge of PHP and its best practices * Good general knowledge of the LAMP/LEMP stack and front-end technologies such as * HTML, JavaScript and CSS. * Familiarity with one or more SQL, NoSQL and NewSQL databases. * Use of version control software, such as Git or Subversion.
