They have recently expanded into the US and are growing their UK team tenfold in order to manage the new demand. The ideal candidate will have automation testing skills (Selenium Web Driver is preferable) – creating and automating code, as well as the ability to test mobile applications. Database Developer required for a Data Analytics organisation in Edinburgh. They specialise in making use of real life data for a number of different industry’s and are a successful cost-saving company. This role has arisen due to sustained product development and a need for potentially two new people in the Database team. You will be working alongside a small department of 12, with an even split between the Web and Database teams. This role is for someone who has developed relational database applications, with the key focus on the ability to code using T-SQL. As well as strong T-SQL scripting skills, if you have written an ETL set, that would be ideal. The company are working with Microsoft Azure, so you will gain exposure to cloud systems if you haven’t already. Prior knowledge of this isn’t a pre-requisite, however knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server is required. The offices are based in central Edinburgh, with this an opportunity to work for a growing and modern Analytics firm. Node.js developer – Manchester – Up to £45K A specialist agency in Manchester are looking for a full stack JavaScript developer to join their team to help tackle a number of new and older projects in both Node.js and Angular. The Business: The team are short of an experienced Node developer, so they are keen to get someone in asap (though they are happy to wait out notice periods.) I’m enjoying working with the team and as an award winning digital agency they arguably have plenty going for them! Accompanying the contemporary tech stack, the team work in a relaxed environment and have been focused on an interesting range of projects. Some of the most interesting benefits to me included being able to pitch ideas to the MD fairly freely and the opportunity to train in the tech / languages of your choice, though there seems to be a good selection for everyone. You: You will ideally have a couple of years’ experience behind you as a Node developer, or using the tech in a full stack environment. Experience with Angular is also a big bonus but any knowledge or time spent using front end frameworks such as React, Vue or Ember is also great. Being a good communicator is essential as you will be working closely in a small(ish) team of 4 – 5 developers. The guys are really easy going too so being relaxed is a major positive too!
