What you'll be doing Build and maintain scalable, automated, event driven data pipelines and data models Design and implement ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and accessible Manage data integrations, imports/exports, and audience segmentation across platforms Monitor and optimise existing data pipelines, ensuring performance and reliability Collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems teams, and Data Governance to improve data quality and reduce technical debt Work with third party partners and platforms to enhance data capabilities Take ownership of data governance and privacy best practices, ensuring compliance and responsible usage Support the business by ensuring teams have access to accurate, usable data to drive decisions What you'll need Essential Criteria: Proven experience in data engineering and modern development practices (2+ years) Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and relational databases (RDBMS) Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models Knowledge of cloud based data platforms and integrations Strong understanding of data quality, testing, and documentation Excellent problem solving and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver to deadlines Nice to have Experience in e commerce or retail environments Curiosity to learn new tools and stay up to date with emerging data practices Location Please note this is a hybrid role and requires the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK. You will be focused on key business priorities, helping build a successful brand using industry best tools (Golang, Event Driven Architecture and AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB) to build scalable solutions for business expansion. Responsibilities Working on features and bugs to help your team deliver high quality work on time. Using Golang to build and maintain APIs, services and integrations. Implementing event driven solutions to support critical business processes. Creating, maintaining and developing CI/CD pipelines. Building scalable and valuable software leveraging AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB. Focusing on creating testable, maintainable and scalable code, following tech standards. Following an Agile development approach. Maintaining existing services, ensuring high standards of observability and proactive monitoring, and responding to incidents (especially during peak sale periods). Essential Qualifications Experience in software engineering and writing production code in Golang or another strict typed language in a commercial engineering environment. Experience working in an agile environment. Experience building or maintaining scalable APIs. Experience using cloud based platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure). Experience using Git. Experience implementing quality and testing best practices within the services you produce, such as unit testing and contract testing. Preferred Skills Experience using cloud based serverless services (such as AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Run or Azure Functions). Demonstrable knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Experience designing, setting up databases and understanding relational and non relational approaches. Understanding of Event Driven Architecture concepts.
