Office based during probation and then some flexibility to work hybrid We are looking for a Frontend UI Developer for our client who are in the automotive fleet services sector based in Poole. The Front-end UI Developer is responsible for implementing intuitive, accessible, and performant user interfaces that bring product and UX designs to life across web and mobile web experiences. The role works closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to deliver consistent, high-quality user journeys Key Responsibilities Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (and modern Microsoft frameworks such as Blazor, MudBlazor). Translate UI/UX wireframes and design systems into high-quality, reusable front-end components. Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, including performance optimisation for page load, rendering, and interactions. Integrate front-end components with APIs and back-end services, handling data fetching, error states, and client-side validation. Implement and uphold accessibility best practices (e.g. semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, ARIA) to meet agreed standards. Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate testing (unit/integration) and participate in code reviews. Collaborate with designers and product to iterate on UI behaviour, micro-interactions, and layout based on user feedback and analytics. Contribute to and help maintain the design system/component library to ensure a consistent look and feel. Skills and attributes Commercial frontend UI development experience in product or agency environments. Portfolio or examples of delivered sites and interfaces demonstrating work in responsive layouts, component-based architecture, and attention to visual detail. Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Experience with MudBlazor front-end framework and state management approaches (e.g. Redux/Fluxor or similar for Blazor). Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser quirks, and front-end performance optimisation techniques. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and common front-end tooling (package managers, bundlers, linters). Experience using Git, DevOps version control systems in a collaborative environment. Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines and UI best practices. Working experience of mixed environments such as Waterfall, DevOps and Agile. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug layout, styling, and interaction issues efficiently. Experience working with design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and consuming design tokens or design systems. Knowledge of UI testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Testing Library, Cypress) and basic CI/CD workflows. Knowledge and experience of release processes and associated tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, Octopus). Experience of developing and managing white-labelled and template-driven sites for branding and other feature requirements. Exposure to analytics and A/B testing to inform UI decisions (e.g., using KPIs like conversion rate, bounce rate). Understanding of SEO considerations for frontend implementation where relevant.
