We are currently recruiting a Senior Environment Manager (Roadmaps) to join our Environment team. This role works on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our Coventry HQ and the remainder working remotely from home, Monday to Friday. As a Senior Environment Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of our sector roadmaps. These industry-owned plans display the environmental progress already being delivered across agriculture, set out ambitions for the future and provide evidence-based leadership to help strengthen the reputation of the sector. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, levy payers and colleagues across the business, you will ensure the roadmaps remain relevant, credible and impactful. This role combines strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based delivery. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of environmental, technical, research and policy issues affecting agriculture, supported by a relevant degree and experience of leading and developing teams. You will be confident working across a diverse stakeholder landscape, turning complex information into practical insights that inform decision making and support industry progress. About AHDB We are the independent, impartial public body that unlocks success in British agriculture. Funded by a levy from over 100,000 British producers in the beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals sectors, we support and champion farmers, growers and processors, often where no one else can or will. We share the expert, evidence-based research and reports that inform on-farm decision making. We promote British produce to the UK public through domestic marketing campaigns, and we identify and open new global export opportunities to help farm businesses grow. We help levy payers learn more, sell more and export more to remain sustainable and profitable. Together, we deliver the insights, influence and impact that farmers need. Lead the development, delivery and ongoing management of AHDB's sector roadmaps, ensuring stakeholder requirements and project objectives are met Provide leadership and operational management within the Environment team, including direct line management responsibilities Work with internal and external stakeholders to track, evaluate and report on roadmap progress Build and maintain effective relationships with industry stakeholders, levy payers, external partners and colleagues Act as a key point of contact for roadmap activity, providing expertise and guidance to support communications, events, reputation management and media enquiries Ensure the roadmaps remain live and relevant, incorporating new evidence, industry developments and emerging priorities Gather and communicate accurate evidence to demonstrate the sustainability of UK agriculture and how this compares to overseas production Contribute to AHDB's wider environmental strategy, policy development, programme delivery and organisational goals A relevant degree or higher qualification in environment, biological, agricultural, agri-environment or a related disciplineor equivalent relevant experience Experience managing, motivating and developing teams Strong experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across different sectors, ideally with experience working with government agencies and commercial organisations to develop partnerships or business opportunities Experience translating complex technical, research or policy information into clear and accessible communication for levy payer audiences Good knowledge of environmental, technical, research and policy issues relating to agriculture and the environment Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage industry partners across the UK The benefits We believe in rewarding our people for their hard work, so we have a great mix of benefits and opportunities to give you the recognition you deserve: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working 33 days annual leave plus one privilege day, inclusive of bank holidays Life assurance cover, 4x salary A market-leading defined contribution pension scheme with Legal & General Enhanced pay of 20 weeks for maternity, adoption and shared parental leave, subject to service A paid day each year to volunteer and make a difference in your community Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme Excellent training and development opportunities and an agreed development plan Recognition awards throughout the year Reward Gateway membership with a wide range of discounts and savings At AHDB, we are committed to developing, maintaining and supporting a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion.
