Role & Responsibilities: *Work collaboratively with other developers within the team, working across different CMS platforms and clients, translating user stories into solutions. *Get involved with new and future phases of exciting ongoing projects. *Explore new technologies and suggest ways to implement your findings while having the opportunity to learn from other members of the team. *Collaborate with designers, front-end engineers, QA testers, project managers and other internal and external team members. Solution Architect £77,000 hybrid remote/office base working model A global leader of SAAS products to the engineering, construction, and architecture sectors are growing their newest team. They have 24 offices, and circa 450 employees worldwide, with 150 of those being UK based. Through the integration of their 15 software applications they are building a brand new, completely server-less platform offering that will enable their clients to have full utilisation of their application suite. This is completely greenfield work and represents a very exciting program of work for the organisation moving forward with their plans to shape technology within their specialist sectors. The new team sits at 10 headcount wise and we're now underway with the next round of growth with the a key priority being the addition of a Solution Architect. You will be responsible for the creation and delivery of application architecture to enable the build of the new platform. You will be working with the Platform team, designing and implementing methodologies and procedures for developing application to ensure consistency across the business in line with best practice methods. Key Responsibilities of the Solution Architect *Creating application architecture and roadmaps to define the framework and explain the migration steps necessary to meet evolving business requirements. *Developing, managing and auditing policies, principles and standards relating to application architecture to provide clarity and ensure compliance with the required standards. *Providing technical advice and support to developers and other architects in matters related to applications architecture to ensure that developments meet required standards. *Designing and implementing migration and transformation strategies to new technologies for applications to minimise disruption and maintain integrity. *Analysing new business requirements from an IT application architecture perspective to ensure solutions meet standards for reliability, scalability, and availability. *Taking the technical lead for application architecture in projects to validate the design and implementation based on the architectural standards and guidelines. *Write concise, yet comprehensive, technical documentation relating to new product architecture. *Evaluation and introduction of new technologies relating to software development. *Keep up to date with best security controls and be aware of the latest threats. Requirements for the Solution Architect *Significant experience in the tools, technologies and approach to build applications and data across multiple technologies and domains that solve a business problem *Experience with client facing applications and services and an appreciation for the commercial nature of our business *Able to work well under pressure, flexible, positive & focused during times of change *Ability to communicate openly and positively to individuals or groups at all levels and build effective relationships *Experience of technical applications e,g, data/database concepts, APIs, application construction data warehousing and business intelligence. This is an autonomous position where you will be the key stakeholder in charge of solutions architecture. During the testing current climate you'll be operating fully remotely. When restrictions allow you will need to be prepared to attend their Gloucester office once/twice per week.
