Lead Instrument Designer - Abadi LNGLocation: Leatherhead (4 days in the office / 1 at home)Rate: £50 per hour (Outside IR35)Contract: 8 monthsStart: ASAP We are taking applications for an experienced Lead Instrument Designer to join a global Engineering business, working on the Abadi LNG greenfield project. You will lead a small team of designers and be responsible for delivering a wide range of Instrumentation and Telecommunication design deliverables to support the project through design, procurement and construction. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a design team on greenfield projects, allocating work and monitoring progress and quality. Prepare and review a wide range of instrumentation and telecom deliverables, including:- Block diagrams- Instrument indexes- Location layouts- Hook-ups and installation drawings- Cable schedules and cable routing layouts- Material take-offs (MTOs) and bills of material (BoMs)- Control room and rack room layouts Ensure all design work is carried out in accordance with project standards, procedures and specifications. Collaborate closely with other disciplines (Electrical, Piping, etc.) to provide instrumentation and telecom inputs and resolve interface issues. Support the Lead Engineer in developing specifications and other design documentation. Promote and ensure adherence to company and project HSE, quality and technical standards. Technical Skills & Experience Strong background in Instrumentation design, ideally within LNG, oil & gas or large process plant projects. Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of designers. Proficient in 3D drafting software packages. Experienced user of SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) database application. Hands-on experience in 3D modelling and extracting drawings from 3D models. Skilled in developing cable tray layouts and location layouts using MicroStation. Experience preparing material take-offs and bills of material. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline environment.

Senior and Lead Flow Assurance Engineers Contract opportunity with a global engineering businessLocation: Leatherhead They are currently heavily involved globally in the transition from oil and gas to other sources of energy including hydrogen and ammonia, decarbonisation, production of biofuels and the move towards minimal manning of offshore production facilities Vacancies now exist within the Flow Assurance team. You will work as part of small project teams developing concept and early project definition in the Oil and Gas sector. The role: Act as a flow assurance engineer on a range of upstream projects, and conduct Flow Assurance studies using software packages, e.g., OLGA, PIPESIM etc. Develop pipeline simulation models, perform simulations of selected cases as defined by self / project and assess simulation results. Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports in accordance with company and project quality requirements. Report to flow assurance SME. Contribute to flow assurance strategies, philosophies and procedures. Requirements/Qualifications Experience in single and multiphase pipelines (steady state and transient hydraulic) analyses using industry standard software, e.g., OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPENET etc. is essential. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in flow assurance modeling using OLGA transient simulation software. Experience in assessing flow assurance issues like slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion etc. by use of simulation software and providing the best mitigation solutions. An ability to work in a collaborative way as part of a multi-discipline project group with minimum supervision. Experience in pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulics Studies, transient analysis covering shut down, blowdown, start-Up, ramp-up / turndown scenarios. Experience in pipeline overpressure protection studies including surge pressure analysis. Knowledge of flow assurance issues including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion etc. and mitigation methods. Good understanding of thermodynamics and experience of Multiflash preferred. Knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and standards. Excellent computer skills, as well as excellent oral/written presentation / report writing skills. Ability to work well independently and in a team. Experience on flow assurance conceptual and front-end studies and topsides process engineering activities including process modeling in HYSYS would be an advantage but not essential. Proven ability to plan and execute studies. Ability and experience of presenting to clients. Operational experience would be a benefit but not essential.
