A strong opportunity for an Architectural Technician / Technologist to step into a key role within a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy in Exeter. This position offers real responsibility from day one, with the chance to lead projects, coordinate teams and deliver high quality technical work across a diverse portfolio. The role can be tailored depending on your level, making it well suited to someone operating at intermediate through to senior level. You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, playing a hands-on role in both delivery and team support. They are looking for someone who is confident, capable and able to take ownership, someone who enjoys being trusted to get on with projects while still working as part of a collaborative and supportive team. Key Responsibilities Leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across all RIBA stages Producing high quality technical drawings, specifications and construction information Managing and delivering projects independently where required Preparing and submitting Planning and Building Control applications Undertaking design and technical reviews within the team Mentoring and supporting junior team members Attending site visits, client meetings and consultant coordination meetings Supporting wider business development activities Requirements Significant experience within a similar role, delivering projects from concept through to completion Experience working on education projects (highly desirable) Strong technical knowledge, including UK Building Regulations and construction methods Proficiency in Revit is highly desirable and AutoCAD Experience producing specifications (NBS Chorus beneficial) Excellent detailing ability across new build and existing buildings Strong communication skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach Ideally working towards or already holding CIAT accreditation This is a strong opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a supportive and forward thinking culture. Due to a strong and growing workload within the residential sector, they are looking for someone with experience producing technical drawing packages for housing developments, ideally working with national house builders. This role would suit someone who is confident technically, enjoys detailed design work and is looking to progress into a more senior, project led position over time. You will be working closely with Project Managers and other technicians, supporting the delivery of projects from technical design through to construction, with involvement in coordinating information and ensuring high quality output across all stages. Key Responsibilities Preparing and developing technical working drawing packages for residential schemes Producing drawings including Assisting with the design and layout of external works, including access, boundaries and site planning Liaising with Building Control to discharge conditions and resolve queries Coordinating consultant information and integrating into technical packages Reviewing and incorporating specialist supplier designs Attending design team meetings and site visits where required Requirements Experience within the residential sector, ideally working with housebuilders Strong technical ability with a high level of attention to detail Good knowledge of Building Regulations and NHBC standards Understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Desirable: Experience producing large-scale construction details Experience reviewing or implementing third-party supplier designs This is a great opportunity to join a growing and well structured consultancy with a strong pipeline of residential work.
