As a Lead Full Stack Engineer (React/JavaScript) you will build remarkable, digital products in Agile environments, using your background in JavaScript and React Native. To do that, it's essential you bring the following: Demonstrate expertise in React Native development, including proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript to build scalable and maintainable mobile applications. Lead the design and implementation of mobile applications using best practices in React Native, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. Architect and implement complex features and functionality across both iOS and Android platforms, utilising React Native's capabilities. Ensure code quality and consistency by using modern tools and techniques, such as ESLint, Prettier, and TypeScript. Integrate third-party libraries to enhance app functionality while maintaining seamless user experiences. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment processes. Monitor and optimise application performance using profiling tools and analytics platforms to ensure reliability and user satisfaction. Stay updated with the latest advancements in React Native and TypeScript, incorporating new technologies and practices into development processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and innovative solutions, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend developers. Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards and provide constructive feedback to team members. Demonstrate experience in deploying applications to app stores, including managing app versions, updates, and compliance with store guidelines. Implement robust testing strategies using tools such as Jest, Detox, and React Native Testing Library. Utilise state management solutions like Redux to efficiently manage application state and enhance performance. Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes. It would be desirable for you to also bring the following: Possess skills in native iOS development (Swift, Objective C) or native Android development (Kotlin, Java) to integrate native modules and optimise platform specific features. Experience of .Net or Python and an interest in architecture and/or Cloud. Familiarity with iOS development tools such as Xcode, Interface Builder, and Instruments for performance profiling. Familiarity with Android development tools such as Android Studio, Gradle, and Android Profiler for performance profiling. Experience with native UI design principles and frameworks, such as UIKit for iOS and Android Jetpack components for Android. Implement native testing frameworks like XCTest for iOS or Espresso for Android to enhance testing strategies. What you'll bring to the table: Core Technical Expertise: Strong hands on backend engineering experience, with depth in one or more of: Java, Node.js, TypeScript, Python or Go, and the ability to work confidently across multiple languages when needed. Understands where AI meaningfully enhances backend systems (e.g., classification, summarisation, anomaly detection) versus where traditional algorithms are more appropriate. Able to evaluate risk, cost, scalability, and maintainability when proposing AI driven solutions. Curious about emerging AI patterns, frameworks, and tooling, with the ability to apply them pragmatically in line with client needs. Comfortable advising clients on realistic AI opportunities and helping them navigate hype vs. practical value. Consulting & Client Delivery Experience working in a consulting or client-facing environment, comfortable operating in ambiguous problem spaces and contributing to both solution discovery and delivery. Able to balance client outcomes, commercial considerations, and technical integrity, adapting approach and communication style depending on context. Acts as a trusted technical partner within delivery teams and with clients, influencing outcomes through clarity, pragmatism, and credibility.
