• As a part of the Infrastructure team this role will involve Configuration, Management and Monitoring of the corporate network Infrastructure. Responsibilities include project delivery, architectural design, strategic planning, capacity and availability planning and recommendations for improvements.
• This person will have extensive Cisco Switch, Router and ASA Firewall skills, along with HP Networking, telephony and wireless technologies including Cisco APs and WLAN controllers.
• There is also a requirement to liaise with 3rd party WAN providers, support partners and channel partners. There would be an expectation to challenge them on solutions, costs and negotiate on hardware and software purchases
Customer Focus
• Ensure my clients network estate is available 100% of the time, excluding planned outages
• Planned system outages in accordance with change management policy and awareness of ITIL processes
• Ensure the estate is resilient and is running as efficiently as possible
• Make recommendation and proposals to improve the network infrastructure
• Diligently carry out and report on capacity
• Lead the business in terms of networking and new technologies
Making Money
• Look for areas to save costs whilst not impacting performance
