Role Overview Senior Full Stack Developer reporting to a Development Manager within Global Markets Technology on the Financial Resource Management Programme. We expect the individual to participate in all parts of the development life-cycle including analysis, testing and production support. We do not have separate teams and these activities are all part of the role. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to do the following: Work within a team of 4 - 6 people with a dedicated product owner Take a business requirement, divide it up into stories and deliver each story iteratively to production. Provide product support. This is integral to the role - we have a saying, "the team builds it, the team supports it". Identify areas of technical debt, ensure a healthy balance of tech debt and new functionality is prioritised and worked on Design the solution for new items and ensure that it follows technology guidelines and constraints Pair with other members of the team Essential Technical Skills We expect the candidate to have the following skills: Demonstrable experience of programming in multiple programming languages At least one language at 'expert' level - We predominantly use Java, Postgres, REST, React A working knowledge of a unix An understanding of databases from a consumer point of view and a good understanding of how-to setup relational databases Knowledge of HTTP APIs e.g. RESTful APIs Department Overview Global Markets, Digital IT is part of GBM Technology operating across asset classes in the organisation. This team has been at the forefront of driving the DevOps / Agile agenda with in the bank. We started our journey development journey back in 2014 and, having had significant success on increasing release to production, iur focus now is to get much better at the commercialisation and adoption of the products we are building. What are we doing? This team is building a digital platform with our business partners in Markets and Securities Services - Financial Resource Management (FRM). This new digital platform includes analytic functions for a variety of financial metrics that are used across the Markets and Security Services business for both pre-trade and post-trade functions. It is a completely in-house built platform delivered by continuously deploying small changes to production every day. The team, split between the UK and China ,works to deliver front to back solutions using a variety of technologies and frameworks such as Java, Postgres, REST services on the backend and React on the front end. We work closely with members of the FRM business to help define and deliver solutions for their important business needs

This could include experience of other solutions such as Tungsten End to end configuration design understanding of Oracle Procure to Pay and Supplier Portal and their file transmission capabilities Able to document design, perform configuration, integration to ERP, test and release Tradeshift change and country on-boarding Understanding of FS Change Management process and service management principles Ability to perform change orders costings and ensure alignment to banking guidelines Manage an offshore BAU team, ensure training, SME guidance and continuous upskilling team An understanding of IT service ownership including Tradeshift resilience, cyber, security and IT risks management Ability to perform IT advisory for HSBC for best practice in simplifying bank processes, ensuring Tradeshift solution data integrity remains strong Excellent communication skills as leading stakeholder workshops and meetings will be mandatory (including System Integrator experience) Contribute in how to best implement a production support model.
