This Hardware Engineer II role is responsible for executing the redesign projects that focuses on cost reduction of existing mass volume products across all Honeywell Building Technologies portfolio through Hardware Design follow-ups and support to ensure all the proposal are accurately implemented in collaboration with Global Engineering team. Products involve controllers, valves and actuators, Peripherals, Electrical Products and the component parts for each of these products. This role is also responsible to identify product cost savings opportunities through vendor change of used electronic & mechanical components as well through electronic circuit design & mechanical system design changes, Production yield improvement through improved designs and other means. Key Responsibilities and Expectations Good understanding of Value analysis, value engineering, and component engineering Responsible for the Value Engineering & Component engineering projects and their implementation through collaborative effort with Engineering, sourcing and offering teams. Review the current electronic board design considering the current technologies in terms of component, materials & process, propose ideations to reduce BoM cost. Working Knowledge of analog (OPAMPS, BJT, MOSFET etc ) & digital design (Micro controller's ADC, DAC, memory devices etc.), knowledge of electronic circuits, power supplies, connectors etc. Understand, review and propose simplification/changes for the PCB Schematics and Layout Design documents with respect to new component proposals. Key skills and qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering is a must; Masters Degree in Engineering is an added advantage. Professional experience in VECE, Hardware Design, Analog, Digital, Power Supplies, power electronics etc. Good understanding of the eCAD tools (like Siemens Mentor-graphics) Good understanding of full design Product Development Lifecycle Simulation tools, UL/EN/CE standards, statistical methods and tools, MS Office Good communication and negotiation skills are required on a daily basis in connection with enablers involved in these projects - Design teams, ISC, offering, Manufacturing site, Suppliers etc. Our offer Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
