AI Solutions Engineer Norwich (on-site, 5 days per week) £40,000K - £55,000K per annum (depending on experience) About the Role My client are expanding and are looking for their first dedicated AI Solutions Engineer . This is a code-first role. You will be designing and implementing custom AI-powered solutions by writing clean, production-ready code that integrates directly with APIs such as OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Whisper, and others . Working across both technical infrastructure and customer-facing initiatives. This is a hands-on position where you'll act as the sole AI expert, responsible for designing, building, and deploying the systems that define how they use AI. Key Responsibilities Custom AI Development : Write backend code to integrate AI services into business workflows and customer-facing applications. API Integration : Build robust, secure integrations with third-party APIs (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, etc.) using backend languages. Prompt Engineering : Craft and refine prompts to achieve consistent, reliable AI outputs. System Design : Architect workflows and services that are maintainable, scalable, and secure. Deployment & Maintenance : Package and deploy solutions in production (Docker, AWS Lambda, serverless platforms, or equivalent). Cross-Department Collaboration : Work with IT on infrastructure and with Marketing to deliver AI-powered innovation in campaigns and customer experiences. Ownership : Act as their in-house AI expert, reporting directly to leadership and shaping the direction of AI within the business. Essential Skills Strong backend development skills in Python, Node.js, or a similar language Proven experience with API consumption, authentication, and integration . Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Ability to design and implement production-grade backend services . Solid understanding of software engineering practices : version control, testing, CI/CD, monitoring. Experience translating business needs into coded AI solutions . Desirable Skills Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex , or similar orchestration frameworks. Experience with speech and voice AI APIs (ElevenLabs, Whisper). Knowledge of chatbot/voicebot design for customer service or sales. DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines). What my client Offer Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 DOE . We're looking for an senior technical expert to join our client's engineering team and take the lead in designing mechanical systems that meet the highest industry standards. This is a hands-on design role working with mechanical structures, rotating drives, and control systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and play a key role in shaping innovative engineering solutions. The main elements of the role will include: Creating innovative mechanical designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Leading technical problem-solving with hands-on expertise and mentoring emerging talent Developing and updating product documentation, datasheets, and specifications Ensuring all designs comply with safety, certification, and industry standards Collaborating closely with production, operations, and project teams to bring ideas to life on time Sharing your progress and insights through design reviews and clear technical reports About the person: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Significant experience in mechanical design, ideally in complex or safety-critical environments Expertise in Autodesk Product Design Suite (Inventor & AutoCAD) Proven ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Experience mentoring junior engineers, graduates, or apprentices
