About the Role We are looking for a motivated and proactive Automation Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves carrying out maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, repairs and remedial works on a range of automated systems including gates, barriers, doors and shutters across a nationwide customer base. This position would suit an engineer who is self-driven, organised and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work. We are seeking someone with ambition, a positive attitude and a desire to develop their career while contributing to the growth of the department. Key Responsibilities Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits. Breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis. Repair and remedial works on automated systems. Electrical and mechanical fault finding. Ensuring systems operate safely and remain compliant with current standards. Accurate completion of service records and reports. Maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent service. Essential Requirements Experience working with automated gates, barriers, doors, shutters or similar automation systems. Strong electrical competency and fault-finding ability. Good understanding of relevant safety standards and industry best practices. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Full UK driving licence. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience & Qualifications DHF Level 2 qualification. Gate Safe IOSH certification. Manufacturer training with leading automation providers. Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Proactive and self-motivated. Reliable and professional. Well organised with excellent time management skills. Customer focused and commercially aware. Ambitious, with aspirations to progress and take on further responsibility. Committed to continuous learning and professional development.
