About the Role We are looking for two experienced Senior Test Automation Engineers to join our team in Northampton. The successful candidates will have strong hands-on experience across functional, API and UI testing, together with proven automation expertise using Karate, Playwright and Java . You will play a key role in designing and delivering robust test solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting continuous improvement of our testing approach, and providing guidance to junior members of the team. Experience within the banking and payments domain would be highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Perform hands-on functional, API and UI testing across applications and services. Essential Skills & Experience 7-8 years of hands-on experience in functional testing, including API and UI testing. Strong hands-on experience in test automation . Experience with Karate and Playwright , preferably combined with strong Java development/programming skills. Excellent debugging and problem-solving capabilities. Hands-on experience with application and test log analysis . Strong understanding of test design, test planning and test execution . Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members. Working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD , including pipeline creation, maintenance and enhancement. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work effectively within an Agile/DevOps environment. The programme involves the migration of core Issuing capabilities from the existing TRIAD platform to ARIC , while supporting the creation of the co-dependent Issuing/Acquiring ARIC platform. This is a high-profile programme with significant impact across business processes, controls, decision-making, governance, customer outcomes and regulatory obligations . The role will be particularly important in ensuring that business requirements are clearly understood, appropriately documented, challenged where required, and translated into deliverable outcomes. The programme is also subject to time-critical third-party dependencies, with TRIAD reaching end of support in Q3 2027 .
