We're on the lookout for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to help us launch and grow a new Road Freight Division in Peterborough - and we want someone with the energy and expertise to make it thrive. Location: Peterborough Hours: 09:00-17:00, Monday to Friday What You'll Be Doing As our BDM, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our Road Freight offering in the region. You'll develop your own client base, targeting the local manufacturing sector and building relationships that last. Key Responsibilities: Build, develop, and manage your own customer portfolio Source leads, qualify prospects, and secure meetings (face-to-face or video) Quote, follow up, and close deals to meet monthly and annual sales targets Operate and manage client accounts with a hands-on, proactive approach Maintain and update CRM systems, sales activity logs, and reporting tools Deliver professional, solution-driven service every step of the way Be a visible, energetic presence in the market - both virtually and on the road What You'll Bring Must-Haves: Minimum 3 years' experience in freight sales Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Confident, persuasive, and resilient sales personality Self-motivated with sharp time-management and goal-setting abilities Commercially savvy, organised, and results-focused Comfortable working under pressure in a target-driven environment Full UK driving license Nice-to-Have: Ambition to grow beyond the role - ideally looking to build and lead a team A desire to contribute to shaping a new division and leave your mark on its success Why This Role?
