We have an opportunity for a Solution Architect Team Manager to join the business and be at forefront of our Business Change & Technology agenda. As Solution Architect Team Manager, you will lead a team of professional Solution Architects, whilst drawing on your expert experience to ensure change initiatives and solutions are fittingly designed for Mitchells & Butlers. Balancing the elegance of design, robustness, security, risk and cost while adhering to overall business and technology strategies. Your experience will be applied in traditional ways of working in addition to Agile initiatives. What will I be doing? Actively fostering a positive, problem solving approach across the department by organising and running a collaborative Design Forum Performing a dual role of Leading an experienced Solution Architecture team and drawing on your sound experience to act as a Solution Architect when needed Working in partnership with the Enterprise Architect, Information Security Manager and Business Architect to ensure that solutions or processes created align to best practice to ensure that IT solutions and Business processes are standardised Proactively managing and align the resourcing of projects, ensuring that your team are engaged and delivering on initiatives that align to MAB's commercial and technical strategy Leading the identification of potential solutions, that are able to fulfil business requirements and making sound recommendations to the business based on architecture principles & guidelines What do I need? Proven experience as a Senior Solution Architect, or similar, with the desire to draw on their professional skill, whilst coaching, leading and developing a team of experienced Architects to future success Strong stakeholder management, communication and relationship building skills The ability to think laterally and constructively question established processes Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Proven experience of managing third party companies Experience in a large, multi-layered organisation is highly desirable Please note interviews will also be held during the advertisement period, and please submit your application at your earliest convenience as this role may close earlier than the stated close date. Responsible for supporting multiple diverse initiatives across our business and portfolios, as Digital Architect you will be producing high quality designs, balancing business needs and cost of ownership while advancing the architecture. As our Digital subject matter expert, you will be the go-to person for day-to-day technical guidance for our extended internal teams helping projects from inception to delivery. Working in partnership with our Product Owners to shape the art of the possible and translating it into designs and sequences that our Delivery Managers, Development teams and Scrum Masters can work with Developing and maintaining the architecture roadmap across all digital channels whilst working with business leaders to deliver best in class solutions Presenting findings & recommendations to an IT Architecture Forum while minimising technical debt Ensuring all licensing implications are understood and documented in support of the detailed solution design Working with third party solution providers to produce roadmaps for architecture components Building market & sector knowledge to ensure awareness of potential solutions / solution providers and share knowledge with other IT teams to enable engagement with the business What do I need? Strong experience building Great Digital Experiences for end customers, particularly across Web and Mobile Experience designing and overseeing the implementation of APIs, distributed architectures, and scalable environments Understanding of designing for resilience and reliability Knowledge of modern Web practices Knowledge of modern API standards and associated Security (REST/JSON/OAuth) Experience in cloud computing (Azure preferable) Experience building Mobile Apps An understanding of Customer Identity Management Please note interviews will also be held during the advertisement period, and please submit your application at your earliest convenience as this role may close earlier than the stated close date.
