This is a high-impact leadership role, offering autonomy to shape the future of fraud and financial crime operations. The successful candidate will be a recognised Fraud SME, with specific expertise in current account-related fraud and financial crime, combined with strong strategic experience and a proven track record of delivering change across fraud, financial crime, and process transformation. You will lead a team of two process experts while driving multi-year transformation initiatives that enhance customer journeys, strengthen internal processes, and ensure operational excellence as the organisation grows and launches new products. Responsibilities for the role of Head of Fraud Operations Strategy: Lead and inspire the strategy for fraud and financial crime operations, setting clear priorities and delivering a multi-year transformation roadmap. Review existing processes and strategies, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing scalable, effective solutions. Design, optimise, and embed compliant fraud and financial crime processes with clear ownership and measurable performance indicators. Leverage data, insights, and market research to inform decisions, anticipate emerging risks, and enhance both customer and operational outcomes. Lead and develop a small team of process experts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, risk, and operational stakeholders, to deliver strategic initiatives and process changes. Ensure all processes comply with regulatory requirements, adapting to evolving risks, technologies, and business needs. Drive change initiatives that enhance customer journeys and internal operational efficiency, supporting the launch of new products and organisational growth. Act as a subject matter expert in current account-related fraud and financial crime, providing guidance across the business on risk mitigation and process improvement. Experience and skills required for the role of Head of Fraud Operations Strategy: Subject matter expertise in fraud and financial crime operations, particularly in current account-related fraud or retail banking. Proven experience leading strategic initiatives and delivering multi-year transformations in fraud, financial crime, and processes. Track record of driving change and process improvements across regulated environments Experience managing and developing small teams while fostering operational excellence. Demonstrated ability to use data, insights, and analytics to inform decisions and improve outcomes. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product, risk, and operational stakeholders.
