Skills Desired Practical experience with DevOps concepts: CI/CD, ChatOps, etc. Familiar with Tomcat, JBoss and session management between web containers. Scripting levels sufficient for sysadmin, deployments, and API interaction. Running java applications in containers at scale in production. Understanding of when to use containers and when to use VMs. Full-stack application and performance troubleshooting skills. Experience building low latency systems (in AWS preferred). Experience with design and management of applications across the areas of: Minimizing single points of failure; Zero down-time upgrades; Auto scaling applications that have cold start challenges; Distributed applications; Implementing and using metrics to make data driven decisions; Systems that negate the need for people to log into servers.
