You'll play a central role in the design, development, and delivery of cloud-native solutions that underpin a large-scale Digital Underwriting platform used across the US market. What You'll Be Doing Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance services for Digital Underwriting use cases, including pricing engines and rule-based workflows. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable TypeScript/Node.js code, adhering to best practices. Design and deliver cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure , with a strong focus on containerised services (AKS) , App Services, and Functions. Use Databricks to support data modelling, transformations, analytics, and pricing models. Build, manage, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. Apply cloud security, performance, and cost-optimisation best practices in a regulated environment. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise overall engineering standards. Lead and contribute to technical design workshops with product owners, architects, data teams, and business stakeholders. Collaborate with globally distributed teams across the UK, US, and Germany . What We're Looking For Strong commercial experience in software development with hands-on technical leadership . Advanced proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js . Solid experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure . Experience with containerised platforms (AKS preferred) . Exposure to Databricks or modern data platforms. Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead by example. Confidence running code reviews and technical design discussions. Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Insurance or reinsurance experience is beneficial but not required .
