Carnival UK are looking for a capable leader to head up our test function in the Technology Portfolio Delivery Team. Our testing work is incredibly varied - from retail to medical, from financial systems to the systems that keep our business secure. In this role you would be accountable for our test practice both in terms of the work we do and the support and development of the people in the team, ensuring we continue to deliver in line with our ambitious growth plans. This includes working with a diverse range of stakeholders both within the UK and throughout the global corporation. Our testing work is not just diverse in terms of the different business capabilities we support, it's also diverse in terms of the types of testing we do. Automated and manual, functional, and non-functional - our testing team's work is richly varied and encompasses everything from integration testing to user acceptance testing and the testing of business processes. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of permanent staff, contractors, and vendors to deliver testing activity across the portfolio. You will ensure the approach for testing is aligned with the needs of each project and its stakeholders (and ultimately: our guests). Most importantly of all, you will support the team as our organisation goes through a period of incredible growth - building and growing our test capabilities. About You We are looking for someone with deep expertise of testing in different frameworks (waterfall/agile), different types of testing (manual / automated, functional / non-functional, SIT, UATetc), managing teams and relationships with vendors. To be successful in this role you will need to be an expert collaborator and will need to be confident working with stakeholders at all levels - both within Technology and across the wider business. Overseeing a team, this role will be responsible for setting team objectives and ways of working which are consistent with the vision and strategic objectives of the department. You will need to balance the individual requirements of the team with the demands of the business and mentor, coach, and support. You will need to manage and prioritise your own workload, communicating regularly with stakeholders to manage expectations and update on progress. Carnival UK is a rapidly expanding organisation and requests will exceed capacity. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience working in fast moving environments and how they prioritise competing demands.
