SANS is the most trusted and by far the largest source for information security training and security certification in the world. It also develops, maintains and makes available at no cost, the largest collection of research documents about various aspects of information security, and it operates the Internet's early warning system - the Internet Storm Center.
In partnership with HM Government, SANS institute is running the UK’s first Cyber Retraining Academy. If you have an interest in IT security, or are looking for something exciting, challenging and different, the Academy could be for you.
The Academy provides 10 weeks of free, GCHQ approved training and is aimed at individuals with little or no prior experience in cyber security. The objective is to retrain people to a level that allows them to change careers and embark on a role in the UK workforce as a cybersecurity professional.
The programme is designed to compress two years of cyber-security training and experience into a 10-week period and is being launched to quickly deliver a new band of highly trained online defenders, who can take up the growing number of cyber-security roles organisations are struggling to fill.
During the Academy, students will be introduced to government and corporate employers who will be looking to recruit successful graduates. Potential employers are given the opportunity to attend careers fairs, which take place during the ten weeks of training, offering the chance to meet and interact with students prior to their graduation.
