In the role of Enterprise Architect for the 'Create' part of our tech landscape, you will be central to planning the digital transformation across the Product & Content Creation lifecycle. You will engage with strategic and operational business leaders to rapidly gain a deep understanding of the business' goals and objectives. You'll then use this insight to define an implementable technology plan and architecture, appropriately balancing cost, functionality, viability and flexibility, to create optimum value for the business. You will be accountable for defining and architecting he technology capability of applications underpinning the creation of both traditional and digital products from Product Managers. (For clarity, in this role, this is the technology that is used by teams as part of the Product & Content Creation process , as opposed to actual products which are sold to customers.) You'll also have accountability for assuring the designs which implement them into production through initiatives. In addition to core business priorities, you must also consider the broader technology factors (e.g. data, platforms, security and integration) in defining and delivering the technical enablers for a world-class product eco-system. This will require a highly collaborative style with a range of Technology colleagues, to ensure a seamless and integrated capability is delivered. The role is highly flexible in terms of working location and style: the focus is on outcomes that further our mission objectives. About You As a highly experienced Enterprise Architect or Lead Solution Architect, you'll ideally be confident supporting digital transformation in a product, content delivery or publishing organisation. You will have: Significant experience of working with senior stakeholders to create a trusted partnership for mutual benefit First-class skills and significant experience in the definition of Architectural artefacts e.g. architectural models, roadmaps, strategies, principles, standards, patterns etc. Strong experience with PLM, Product Innovation Platforms and Service Creation frameworks and architectures, with demonstrable experience of dramatically improving maturity Experience of leading technology and architecture change programmes Significant experience of defining reference architecture and architectural artefacts from scratch i.e. leading initial creation as well as ongoing maintenance Demonstrated track record in leading a federated community of architects, designers and system owners, including working with 3 rd parties in these roles Prior experience in solution / design assurance and governance at scale Experience in software delivery, solution architecture, data architecture, solution assurance or similar roles Technical knowledge of enterprise content or publishing tools, including PLM, e-commerce/web, content management, data/reporting and ERP applications. About the Role Working alongside a group of supportive global colleagues you'll work closely with the Group Accounting and Consolidation Manager during key times such as planning cycles, month end and year end. You'll also be encouraged to help with finance change projects alongside playing a role in continuous improvement within the team. Responsibilities include: Process all Group consolidations using the consolidation tool (Tagetik). This includes loading entity files, exchange rates and consolidation adjustments Investigate differences in inter-group reconciliations and resolve any issues, liaising with UK Finance and other OUP branches to recommend changes Record all the consolidation adjustments made and maintain appropriate back-up and audit trail Work independently to develop ad hoc reports required Maintain documentation and procedures manual, look for ways to improve procedures and controls Maintain a log of all returns/remittances into the Group Finance mailbox, keep track of any outstanding or late remittances Coordinate and monitor the review and approval of group subsidiary statutory accounts ensuring compliance with filing deadlines. We operate a hybrid working policy and expect this role to require approximately 2 days per week in the Oxford office with some flexibility to come in for certain days at key times e.g month end. About You You'll be an analytically minded individual who is committed to continuous improvement. To be considered for this role you will also have: Essential: Excellent organisation skills with the ability to work to multiple deadline Financial and/or analytical experience The ability to communicate with a variety of people Comfortable with data and reporting with good Microsoft Excel knowledge. Knowledge of accounting and double entry principles. Desirable: Experience of working with an ERP such as SAP or Oracle Experience of using a consolidation tool such as Hyperion.
