A Senior or ideally Lead Developer (.Net + Umbraco) is required for a rapidly growing Digital Agency in Glasgow - the company have a great culture and working environment with a steady pipeline of modern project work. The company have been operating successfully now for over 10 years and are financially very stable, they've more than doubled in size over the past 12 months and have a great client base - with plenty of repeat business and new clients. They're looking to add a Senior Developer to their ranks that will be taking a really hands on role in shaping the team, projects and technology roadmap. You'll be working in a small Agile team (Circa 4) and will be the most Senior Developer within the business - you'll act as a senior technical escalation point for everyone and will also be responsible for coaching / mentoring other team members in new technologies and best practices. You'll also be encouraged to help implement better processes for development and even technologies - the company are looking to provide their clients with top class solutions, so are constantly trying to keep up to date with the latest trends in tech. From a project perspective you'll be responsible for engaging with clients, scoping out projects, estimations, and then distributing the work out to the team - so experience in a similar setting would be really handy. The company are hoping you could be a real driving force to get projects completed on time and to a high standard. This is still a 100% hands on role so are looking for a Developer with really strong tech skills to match, the company are a Microsoft House so you'll ideally come from a .Net background. A large portion of the work is carried out on Umbraco, so ideally experience with this is more than beneficial - however they are able to offer training to the right individual. A software company with huge backing are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer. The company do some incredibly interesting cutting-edge work with a pretty unique product, and have ambitious plans to grow from 150 to 600 in the next few years, so now is an ideal time to join. Based just outside of Aberdeen, and offering a hybrid working model (ideally in the office two days a week), you will join the Head of DevOps, several Senior DevOps Engineers and a few more junior folk in building out the cloud and DevOps function. You'll be a hands-on Engineer, with expertise in building out CI/CD pipelines in particular. Ideally, your cloud platform experience would be with Azure, but as long as you have some strong cloud platform experience (I.e. Azure or GCP) you'll get on fine! It would be a huge bonus if you had experience across containerisation and Kubernetes specifically, as well as being able to set up a Kubernetes cluster from scratch. As Principal, you'll need to lead 'from the top down' and ensure that knowledge transfer is happening both in the DevOps team, but across the technical team as required. It's a collaborative working environment too, so having good communications skills and an ability to combine ideas and opinions is a must! A pioneering tech company in Glasgow are looking to bring on board a technically hands-on Test Manager. The company are leaders in their (niche!) field, and have done some interesting and varied projects across the UK from Shetland to Glasgow, as well as further afield (the rest of the UK, Europe and the US). You'll be working and leading the QA team members across both the software and the hardware testing function, so a little bit of hardware/embedded software testing experience could be really useful (but not necessary!). The focus of the role is towards the software testing side of things, where the team are pushing to develop the automated testing function. Currently, the testing is split 80/20 in favour of manual testing and the goal is to reverse this, with the bulk of the testing being automated eventually. This means that previous experience helping develop automated testing (and being slightly hands-on in this aspect) would be ideal in this role. As Test Manager, you will be focused on developing and upskilling the team; looking at the software testing implications; building test strategies and ultimately building a testing roadmap for the company. In the testing team, most of the QA Engineers have more experience testing the front-end of applications, so if you have had more back-end testing experience (or a more holistic experience across application) that would be a big bonus! The type of work the company do is a little bit different, not your typical software technology company so there's the opportunity to delve in some varied projects that are beneficial to the planet!
