A leading UK organisation is seeking an IT Controls Specialist to join its growing Corporate Governance function, supporting the enhancement of technology controls, cyber governance and enterprise-wide risk and resilience frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Contols, Audit or Assurance professional to play a key role in a high-profile controls and governance programme, including preparations for future SOX readiness. Client Details Our client is a large and complex organisation operating across multiple business units and technology environments. With significant investment being made into governance, risk management, controls assurance and operational resilience, this role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to senior stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing maturation of the organisation's technology risk and controls framework. The successful candidate will join a growing team with strong visibility across the business, helping to shape and strengthen the control environment at a time of significant focus on governance, assurance and regulatory readiness. Description Perform IT controls testing and ongoing controls monitoring activities across key technology processes. Support cyber governance and oversight initiatives, helping to strengthen technology risk management practices. Conduct technology risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls. Assist with business continuity, operational resilience and disaster recovery governance activities. Deliver controls assurance reviews, certification processes and control effectiveness assessments. Manage control deficiencies, tracking remediation actions through to completion. Support the administration and development of controls management processes and governance tools. Contribute to governance reporting, risk committees and senior stakeholder engagement. Assist with the development and enhancement of technology risk and controls frameworks. Provide input into wider governance initiatives, including SOX readiness and emerging technology risk considerations. Maintain and enhance Imerys' UK network infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable and high-performing connectivity across multiple sites. The role combines hands-on network support, troubleshooting and incident management with involvement in network upgrades, security improvements and global IT projects, working closely with UK and international teams. Description Network Operations & Support (Run - approx. 80%) Providing day-to-day support for network services across all Imerys sites, ensuring high levels of performance, availability and security. Managing incidents and changes through ServiceNow, with clear and timely updates. Monitoring, analysing and troubleshooting complex issues across Cisco and Palo Alto environments. Supporting site teams and helpdesk colleagues with connectivity and performance concerns. Performing system backups, patching and general network maintenance. Maintaining accurate asset inventories for network devices and components. Responding to urgent or high-priority incidents and supporting business continuity and disaster-recovery activities. Projects & Network Improvements (Build - approx. 20%) Contributing to global and UK-level network improvement and security projects. Installing, configuring and maintaining Cisco and Palo Alto equipment (routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, etc.). Helping refine and implement global networking policies, ensuring alignment with UK operations. Preparing clear technical documentation for IT teams and users. Supporting technology reviews and future network design improvements. Profile Essential Degree or equivalent in Computing, IT or a related field. Fluent in English. At least 3 years' operational experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies. Strong technical knowledge of IP networking, routing, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN and associated protocols. Hands-on troubleshooting experience in complex network environments. Experience working collaboratively within technical teams. Ability and willingness to travel across UK sites (up to 30%) and other EMEA locations where Imerys is operating. Must be legally entitled to drive in the UK Desirable Experience working in a multicultural or global organisation. Ability to speak another European language. Cisco or Palo Alto certifications.
