Talented tech support specialist needed
We’re looking for a hands-on technical support specialist to monitor and maintain our computer systems and hardware. This is a role spanning first and second line support across a variety of areas, including networking, security, internal computer systems, general helpdesk queries. We’re looking for someone bright and capable to take on core tech responsibilities and keep our systems running smoothly.
The role involves initiating and implementing improvements across all areas of IT, prioritising your own workload while keeping up with service requests and reporting back to the relevant stakeholders. You will keep up to date on the latest tech and advise the business of possible improvements, and respond positively to upper-management requests (which you’ll get plenty of!)
You’ll need great communication skills to engage with tech users and translate tech solutions into accessible language. You’ll have to prioritise monitoring the support system and dealing with users’ queries, so you’ll need to be very organised, take ownership of issues and know when to escalate things to get them sorted.
Core responsibilities include:
* Monitor and help maintain current system architecture, ensuring maximum availability, minimal downtime and optimal performance
* Understand, monitor and implement security measures to protect business assets, highlighting potential improvements and escalating issues quickly
* Assess, advise and troubleshoot on internal computer systems and legacy server hardware
* Respond to and manage helpdesk activities, escalating where needed, and interact with all internal end users globally to provide effective support
Ideally we’d like to have someone who is a Microsoft specialist (Windows 7 or 10), MCITP (Windows 7), MCTS (Windows 7 or server 2008) or someone working towards MCSA.
You’ll be working in a talented, focused team dedicated to excellence, learning and growth. If you think you fit that profile and are hard-working, technically proficient and keen to step up to the challenge, then we’d like to hear from you. We reward our people well and you’ll get plenty of opportunities for experience and development.
About Us
We’ll be honest – Focusrite is a pretty great place to work. Incorporating both the Focusrite and Novation brands, we make music easy to make, from bedroom DJs to the greatest show on earth. Everyone who works here has an enormous passion for music: as it says on our website, sound is everything. We take that very seriously – though we have a lot of fun doing it.
As the number one selling audio interface brand worldwide, Focusrite has an illustrious, prestigious, and, let’s face it, cool history. Alongside Novation, the hardware and software that we develop plays an instrumental (see what we did there?) role in shaping the sound of modern music. From amateur to pro, our goal is to help musicians to make their music the very best it can be.
Music has always been an exciting thing to be involved with, and that’s not about to change. We embrace its evolution, and that means being open to new ideas. Our whole business is structured to let everyone contribute and be heard at all levels, and we make sure it’s a fun place to work.
Benefits include company pension, life insurance, private healthcare, employee purchase scheme and share options, (Plus, you get free breakfast and lunch in the canteen. No really.). Company hack-days, making things easy days, lunch and learns, external visits – we’re all about innovation, fresh thinking and great, great products.
We work hard. We are professional. We select really, really talented people. And we absolutely love our work. So if you think you can bring something new to the mix, we’ll be looking forward to hearing from you
