As a PHP Software Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining a single development pipeline, which means you will be work closely as a team and sometimes even do the peer programming. Ideally as a PHP Software Engineer, you will have some knowledge of the following: • PHP5/PHP5.3, • Zend Framework (ZF2), • MySQL, • Linux System Administration, • Git, • big data, data security, • Doctrine ORM, • Composer Dependancy Manager, • creating highly trafficked websites, • Agile/Scrum methodologies, • BDD/TDD, • HTML5, • CSS3, • Javascript. Senior Systems Administrator – Linux / Windows Server 2012 / AWS – Central London – Up to £55K dependant on experience + up to around £5K on call payments. Excellent Benefits (Pension, Healthcare, Childcare Vouchers, Cycle to work scheme) Are you a Linux System Administrator, with at least 3 years of experience of working within a Software Development Company? Working in Infrastructure / Operations where IT systems are public facing on Internet 24x7x365? The successful Linux System Administrator will be responsible for the deployment and support of business IT infrastructure, systems and application software, network services and data security of an SAAS technology leader. As a Systems Administrator, you will need to be: Outgoing and friendly, passionate about technology and result oriented, technical, hands on, evidence based when researching or troubleshooting, and be able to be on call shift regularly and participate in weekend maintenance windows. Essential Skills: • Advanced Linux skills (preferably Ubuntu / Debian) • Reasonable knowledge of Windows 2012 (basic administration) • Solid basic knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) • Virtualisation (preferably XenServer) • Exposure to Amazon Web Services Desirable Knowledge: • Automation tools (particularly puppet) • Basic knowledge of CI (Continuous integration in software development) • Java application servers (particularly Tomcat) • Mac OSX support • Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, OrientDB, MS SQL Server • Monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, Smokeping, Zabbix) • Load Balancing, delivery networks, CDN • Any related Dev-ops skills Responsibilities: • To provide front-line technical support, both 1st and 2nd line as required • To perform daily examination of monitoring, backup status, and rectify any issues • Providing up to date information to the line manager regarding problem resolution status and possible impact of issues on related systems • Research and design solutions, participate and lead various technical projects If selected, you will be asked to complete an online assessment which lasts approximately 45 minutes, this may be based on the following topics: • Microsoft Windows 2012 (Server Admin) • Linux System Administration If you’re interested, please send your CV immediately and if you are suitable we will submit your details for the online assessment.
