Senior Embedded Software Engineer North Hampshire Up to £44,000 + Benefits The company is a global leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of complex and high tech electromechanical system. They are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to be responsible for the development, implementation and validation of C code in accordance with strict safety regulations e.g. MISRA & EN 61508. You will work as part of a small team from initial architecture through to testing, debugging and systems engineering to final product. The Role: Design and implement embedded software to operate on microcontroller/microprocessor in a working product (e.g. C code). Coach and support Design Engineers in design techniques and departmental processes Develop, maintain and implement actions of DFMEA's derived directly from functional specifications. Development of safety critical designs to satisfy Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) of programmable safety related systems Assist with Development of Software Requirement Specifications & maintain traceability from design requirements to design implementation Modify existing / legacy software to adapt and integrate to new hardware platforms or to upgrade for functional / performance improvements. Debugging of C code (Green Hills Software) and embedded systems Carry out FMEA of a microprocessor controlled system in accordance with the appropriate standard. Skills/ Background: Degree qualified or equivalent in Electronics / Software Engineering etc - HNC/HND will be considered if coupled with good industry knowledge Excellent proven skills using C in safety critical, embedded environments ideally in machinery, automation, automotive, aerospace, rail or medical devices etc Diligent approach to the development process (use or familiar with the V - model process) Proficient with version control, bug tracking and software build environment tools (e.g. SVN, Mantis and Eclipse) Have an understanding of microprocessor based PCB design layout including multi-layer, SMT and conventional components Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with people, especially in a cross - functional team environment Advanced Resource Managers Engineering Limited operates & advertises as an Employment Agency for permanent positions and as an Employment Business for contract/temporary positions
