Senior Decision Scientist | SME Lending Birmingham based role - Up to £75K I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Decision Scientist to join a growing financial services business, working at the forefront of SME lending and automated credit decisioning . This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of the full model life cycle from identifying the problem and building models through to deployment, monitoring and optimisation - while working closely with Data, Risk and Product teams. What you'll be doing Develop and deploy ML and statistical models across credit risk, affordability and pricing Own models end-to-end, including data, feature engineering, modelling, validation, deployment and monitoring Build model monitoring frameworks and performance dashboards Explore new data sources, challenger models and A/B testing to improve decisioning Turn complex analysis into clear, commercially focused insights Work closely with both technical and senior business stakeholders to influence lending strategy What I'm looking for Strong Machine Learning experience within SME lending Strong Python and SQL skills Proven experience taking models through the full development life cycle Background in FinTech, lending or automated decisioning Good understanding of UK credit risk and regulatory requirements Confident communicator who can bridge the gap between Data, Risk and Commercial teams Desirable: Consumer lending experience, model governance/monitoring experience, and a strong commercial mindset with genuine ownership. Lead Data & BI Engineer - Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Birmingham City Centre based (Hybrid working, 2/3 days onsite) £80K - £100K DOE We're partnering with a growing, data-driven organisation looking to hire a Data Engineer to take ownership of their end-to-end data platform. This is a hands-on role focused on building a modern data stack within Microsoft Fabric . You'll design and develop pipelines, structure data models, and deliver reporting through Power BI that supports decision-making across marketing, sales, finance, and operations. There is a clear progression path into leadership as the data function grows, but the initial focus is on building a scalable, high-quality data platform from the ground up. The Role Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using PySpark and SQL Develop transformation logic within Fabric Lakehouses using Delta Lake and medallion architecture principles Integrate data from E-commerce, ticketing, and marketing platforms into a central data layer Connect sources such as GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and affiliate platforms via APIs and native connectors Own data quality, monitoring, and governance across the platform Design and implement dimensional data models (fact/dimension tables, star schema) Build and maintain Power BI semantic models with DAX, KPIs, and row-level security Deliver dashboards and reporting across commercial, marketing, and operational performance Support analytics use cases including attribution modelling, cohort analysis, and customer segmentation Translate business requirements into data solutions and present insights to stakeholders Promote best practices in data engineering, documentation, and version control Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, pipelines).
