HotLizard is looking for an enthusiastic C# / .NET Developer to join our small, experienced development team, working on our established online Sports and Recruitment products. You'll be developing new features, improving user experience, and helping advance the platforms using modern tools and techniques with real ownership and minimal bureaucracy. Our platforms are VB.NET and will remain so in part; new sports modules are C# / MVC. No VB.NET experience needed we'll support a strong C# developer in picking it up. Key responsibilities Design, build, and maintain features across our web platforms Collaborate with the team to improve performance, usability, and code quality Contribute ideas on architecture, tooling, and process improvements Essential skills & experience At least 3 years' commercial experience in .NET development (C# or VB.NET) Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL) Self-motivated, with the drive to see projects through to completion Analytical, creative problem solver with good communication skills Strong work ethic and a happy positive, team-oriented attitude Desirable skills C# VB.NET ASP.NET MVC ASP.NET Web Forms HTML, CSS/LESS, JavaScript/TypeScript IIS, WebAPI, jQuery Unit testing TFS (or similar version control/ALM tools) Familiarity with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted/agentic coding tools What we offer Competitive salary Friendly, experienced team with a flat, low-bureaucracy structure Modern office environment Casual dress Free on-site parking HotLizard is part of the Aspire Media Group , a group of companies including JobServe , JobG8 , Colchester United FC .
