Overview The Lost Gardens of Heligan is looking for enthusiastic, personable and customer-focused Hospitality Assistants to join its vibrant front of house team. This is a varied and fast paced role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional visitor experiences in a unique and inspiring setting. Working across Heligan's cafés, restaurants and outdoor food outlets, the successful candidates will play a key role in serving high quality food and drink to over 350,000 visitors each year, as well as guests attending weddings, private events and corporate functions. They will be advocates for the Heligan food story, confidently sharing knowledge of our Kitchen Garden and Home Farm produce, and helping to bring our seasonal, garden led offering to life for visitors. Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, service and hygiene across all hospitality areas will be central to the role. Responsibilities Operate tills and handle payment transactions. Prepare and serve food and drink, including barista quality coffees and alcoholic beverages in line with legal requirements. Support both front and back of house operations as needed. Maintain high standards of presentation, service and hygiene across all hospitality areas. Assist with special events such as Lost Suppers, and adapt to a varied schedule of daytime service, events and peak holiday periods. Qualifications Prior experience in a similar hospitality environment. Confidence, friendliness and professionalism at all times. Strong communication skills, keen eye for detail and efficient teamwork in a high volume setting. Good understanding of food and drink, including coffee preparation and alcoholic service.
