Position Description: The candidate will work in the development of Simulation Lifecycle management (SLM) processes. The Simulation Group is the centralized reference for JLR virtual engineering strategy and the SLM optimal deployment to the business is our concern. The experience required is scripting in the Enovia environment, the expected acquired tools are: Python, Windows Batch Scripting and Java. This task will represent the main part of the work. The candidate will support the Programme for Simulation Innovation (PSI: a partnership between EPSRC and Jaguar Land Rover). This includes an understanding of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and a supporting role for the Project Manager. The successful candidate will chair meetings, organize the logistics of reviews, parts and testing, facilitate the communication between the academic institutions and the internal theme leaders towards a deployment of the deliverables into the business. He will also take care of the maintenance and development of data publication and exchange inside and outside the program. Supporting PSi project leads to maintain detailed project plans and tracking documents for programme gateways adhering to the JLR Research project management methodology. KEY SKILLS REQUIRED - MUST HAVE At least 1 year experience working on SLM in the Enovia environment At least 1 year experience in two of the three scripting tool mentioned: Java, Python, Window Batch scripting Exposure to automotive engineering design projects Experience Required: Good communication and relationship building skills. Notions of iPLM / SLM, advanced knowledge constitutes a plus. Exposure to automotive engineering design projects using a variety of CAE methods. A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities. Experience of project support activities with a track record of delivering programmes. Education Required: Delivery of engineering and or analytical projects preferably within the academic arena and the automotive industry. CAE background - One or more of LS-Dyna/Abaqus/Star CCM+/PowerFLOW/Simpack/Optistruct. PrePost background - One or more of ANSA/HyperWorks. Strong planning and project management skills with ability to operate with minimum supervision. Be results driven and meet commitments. You should strive to seek out improvements to business processes. Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach, preferably with experience of six sigma methodologies. Experience of physical testing related to CAE methodologies. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline. Additional Information : The Simulation Group is a part of Vehicle Engineering and is responsible for all aspects of CAE/Simulation strategy across all functions to deliver leading edge engineering simulation capability (CAE and Systems) including: Deliver a comprehensive simulation strategy including best practices, methods, standards, conventions, people, skills and organisation. Develop capable, efficient, standardised, documented processes in simulation, optimisation and automation. Support vehicle programs with concept CAE expertise. Establish and coordinate simulation capability and efficiency improvement projects. Ensure JLR has capable, effective and sustainable simulation software and hardware tools and suppliers for product development and manufacturing.
